How much will I receive?

We don't exclude clothing based on brand. However, because every garment needs to be individually checked, photographed, listed, stored and sold, the amount we can pay for lower-value clothing is limited.

We accept:
- Items in good, clean condition that have been recently laundered and are free from pet hair
- Baby and children's clothing from size 00000 to size 16
- Clothing for any season, at any time of year
- Sleeping bags
We don't accept:
- Adult clothing
- Underwear or socks
- Shoes
- Bibs
- Blankets, sheets or towels
- School uniforms
- Sporting club uniforms
We also can't accept clothing with:
- Tears or holes
- Stains or marks
- Excessive wash fade or pilling
- Excessive wear, particularly around knees or cuffs
- Broken zippers or poppers
- Missing buttons
- Perished or loose elastic
- Loose or undone stitching
- Brand / Size labels removed

Every garment takes time for our team to assess, photograph, describe, list, store and ultimately sell, regardless of whether it will sell for $5 or $50.
That's why higher-value clothing is much better suited to the Outgrown service if you're looking to maximise your return.
You don't need to identify the exact value of every garment yourself. But when deciding what to include, consider prioritising:
- Better-known and higher-value children's brands
- Premium and designer clothing
- Higher-value garment types such as jackets and special-occasion clothing
- Excellent-condition items with plenty of wear left
- Items that originally had a higher retail price
Lower-value everyday clothing can still be included if it meets our acceptance standards, but please keep in mind that the amount you receive for these items may be quite small.

How much are my items worth?
The easiest way to get an idea before sending your clothes is to search the Daisy Chain Clothing website for similar items.
We have approximately 20,000 preloved children's items listed across many different brands, garment types, sizes and conditions.
For example, if you're considering sending us a particular brand of children's dress, search our website for that brand and similar dresses. The prices of comparable items should give you a useful indication of the expected Daisy Chain Clothing selling price.
Remember that these prices are a guide only. We assess the actual garment we receive, and differences in condition, style, material and other characteristics can affect its value.
You can then use the payout table above to estimate approximately how much you would receive as cash or Daisy Chain Clothing credit.
Do I have to wait until my clothes sell?
No.
Once we've received and assessed your Outgrown Kit, we'll calculate your cash and Daisy Chain Clothing credit values.

What if I don't want to accept the payout?

Do you accept Kmart, Target, Big W and other everyday brands?
We don't automatically exclude clothing because of its brand, provided it meets our other acceptance requirements.
However, lower-value everyday brands generally have a much lower resale value while taking much the same time for us to process as a higher-value garment.
This means the amount you receive for these items may be quite small.
If most of the clothing you want to send consists of inexpensive everyday basics, our Outgrown Kit may not provide the return you're looking for.
Do I need to send designer clothing?
No.
There are many children's brands and garment types with good resale value that aren't designer labels.
However, because your payout increases with expected selling price, a kit containing better-value clothing will earn considerably more than one consisting mainly of inexpensive basics.
Can I send summer clothes during winter?
Yes.
We accept clothing for every season throughout the year.
Do I need to wash everything first?
Yes.
Please send clothing that has been recently laundered, is clean and is free from pet hair.
How do you determine the expected selling price?
We consider factors including brand, garment type, condition and the price we expect the item to sell for through Daisy Chain Clothing.
Once we've determined the expected selling price, your cash and Daisy Chain Clothing credit values are calculated automatically using the published payout rates.
What happens to items we can't resell?
Not every garment we receive will be suitable for resale.
Items that don't meet our resale requirements won't form part of your cash or Daisy Chain Clothing credit payout.
Where suitable, these garments will be upcycled through our Next Chapter collection. Other unsuitable items will be taken to our local community recycling centre.
This helps us find another use or responsible pathway for clothing that can't be sold through Daisy Chain Clothing.
